Pablo Montagne
Guitarist, composer and improviser, Pablo Montagne, impelled by an inexhaustible spirit for research, has been dedicated to the practices of improvisation and composition for many years, confronting the multiple aspects related to solistic and group performance with a very personal approach.
His discographic projects have been received with great interest, obtaining enthusiastic reviews from critics, from italian and international music magazines specialised in this sector such as “The Wire”, “Freistil”, “Cadence”, “Blow up”. He graduated with top marks in classical guitar at the "A. Casella" Conservatoire in L'Aquila. Following this, he studied with M.Felici and M.Grandinetti at the "N.Rota" Conservatoire of Monopoli, receiving the Master degree in guitar solo performance with honors. At the same time, he has also studied improvisation with G.Lenoci obtaining the Diploma in “Jazz Music” with honors.
Alongside his concert activities, he has also held musical workshops and has been teaching in the conservatories of Monopoli “N.Rota”, Bari “N.Piccinni” and Lecce “Tito Schipa”.
Several labels such as Evil Rabbit Records, Amirani Records, Aut Records, Setola di Maiale, Silta, Dodici Lune have published his work as duo, ensemble and solo artist.
His scores are published by Ed. Musicali Glissato (Mirrors vol. I and II for electric guitar and delay) and Ed. Musica Sinfonica (12 Studi - sul legato e tecniche non convenzionali).
As an improviser, composer and performer, he’s worked with : Michael Riessler, Gianni Lenroci, Joëlle Léandre, Maurizio Grandinetti, Kaija Saariaho, Massimo Felici, David Lang, Michelangelo Lupone, Evan Parker, Steve Potts, Giacomo Mongelli, Nicola Guazzaloca, Daniele Di Bonaventura, Beñat Achiary, Clint Lutes.
